Robert Henry

Robert Henry was born a whopping eleven pounds at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in New York City. He didn't wait around to find out if that was any sort of record though. His parents (natives of West Texas) moved the family back to San Antonio within days of his release from the Hospital. Robert grew up in San Antonio and graduated from SMU in 1995. He has been around the world twice and has lived in Salzburg, Austria and Takasaki, Japan. As for Music, he recalls, "In the beginning, the B-Team was all inclusive. To this day my best friend is Stephen Harris (of Harris & Ryden). I also had buddies out at Tech like Pat Green and Cory Morrow. With a group like that, you never got a shot at the guitar until those guys went to bed. Those of us who were just learning called ourselves 'the B-Team' and hoped that the ringers would get too drunk or tired so that we could get some practice." Robert first picked up the guitar in college, but it wasn't until Japan in 1996 that he started playing on a daily basis. "My roommate gave me this old guitar when he didn't have his share of the rent and taught me some of the more difficult chords. I must have driven my Japanese neighbors crazy with beginner's renditions of Kris Kristofferson, Guy Clark and Robert Earl Keen songs." Robert has been an actor since the age of thirteen and loves to sing; now he's got an instrument to accompany himself. "I love getting up there. When you were born to entertain, there's nothing like being on stage in Texas. It's the best of both worlds."
